Odin’s Liquid Scent Earns USDA Certified Biobased Product Label

Odin’s Innovations announced today that its new family of liquid scents has earned the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Certified Biobased Product Label for Odin’s Innovations ® Liquid Scent.
“We believe it is a responsibility to be good stewards of the land. For this reason, we choose a biodegradable polymer for our beads and biodegradable materials for our liquid scent line” said Paul Black, President of Odin’s Innovations. “Many products claim to be “biodegradable”; we choose to go a step further”, Black added, “and participate in the rigorous review through the USDA’s BioPreferred Program.” Third-party verification for a product's biobased content is administered through the USDA BioPreferred® Program, which strives to increase the development, purchase, and use of biobased products.
The new liquid scents also bring a performance advantage compared to other liquid scents available," Black said. “The natural oil base and essential oils ‘coat’ foliage and the ground, then release the scent over a 7-day period. Also, when applied to bushes and branches, the wind carries the scent over a much wider area.”
The USDA Certified Biobased Product Label displays a product's biobased content, which is the portion of a product that comes from a renewable source, such as plant, animal, marine, or forestry feedstocks. The Odin’s Innovations liquid scent utilizes 76% renewable biobased materials, displacing the need for non-renewable petroleum-based chemicals.

About the USDA BioPreferred Program
With the goal of increasing the development, purchase, and use of biobased products, USDA's BioPreferred® Program was first introduced in the 2002 Farm Bill and reauthorized in 2018. It requires federal agencies and contractors to give purchasing preference to biobased products. The USDA BioPreferred Program also includes a voluntary certification and labeling initiative for biobased products. This is referred to as the USDA Certified Biobased Product Label.
